So in my last newsletter, I shared the creative challenge I made for October. And in all honesty, I created things, but they aren't finished.
Last week, I celebrated my birthday and ended up buying new art supplies and things I wanted to try. I was a bit too busy during the first week and even though I could have done a 5 or 6-minute sketch, I was just not in the mood. So I decided to push whatever I would create for last week to this week..
But as you can probably tell, that didn’t end up working. I even thought of rushing it and getting the projects done. However, I didn’t start Creatober so that I could create something once a week. I started this challenge so that I could enjoy playing around with new mediums.
So I’m going to allow some leniency mostly because it’s my challenge but also because I think I’ll be able to complete Creatober!
Anyway, here's what I have so far!
The first thing I started to work on was just trying and testing embroidery on a canvas for the first time. I watched a couple of videos on the techniques that are used to embroider but for the rest, I’m just flying by the seats of my pants. Right now, I’ve only embroidered on a canvas, which in of itself, is pretty hard, especially because canvas is pretty tough. So after I finish this little plant I plan on trying it on cloth.
And then the second thing I created which was not supposed to be part of Creatober, but because I didn’t create anything else except for this crochet headband, I’m going with it. So I decided to crochet a headband mostly because I keep losing mine plus I think it would look cool. I didn’t want to use my brand-new yarn, so went with my old black yarn; that’s been lying in the corner.
For Creatober, the original plan was to create 4 things for the four weeks of October, but I think that if I want to create more during this month, then I probably will!!
“So Whats next?” you may ask.
Good question! I guess you’ll have to stay tune until Oct 27 to find out!
(P.S. Are you participating in an art challenge? How do you like what I’ve made so far? Leave a comment!)
